Forms I-94 and I-94W
Forms I-94 and I-94W (Visa Waiver Program) are electronic documents that record the entry and exit dates of visitors to the U.S. Learn how to obtain the I-94 and verify or print this document.
If you entered the United States as a visitor or tourist (B-1/B-2 visa), you may request an extension of stay with Form I-539.
Requirements:
- Include your original Form I-94,
- Explain the reasons for requesting the extension,

But if your B-1/B-2 visa has expired, you cannot renew your visitor visa while in the U.S. or extend the validity of this visa.

Obtain Form I-94
Generally, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issues I-94 forms electronically.
- If you are traveling by air or sea: When you enter the U.S., the CBP officer who receives you will issue your electronic I-94.
- If traveling by land: You can obtain the I-94 in person at your port of entry; or online (7 days before entering the U.S.), through the Form I-94 website or with the "CBP One" application.

To obtain their I-94W, foreign nationals from countries included in the Visa Waiver Program need an approved and current Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) authorization.
You can apply for your I-94W through the CBP One application or on the Form I-94 website.
You may request an extension of your stay if:
- U.S. authorities legally admitted him with non-immigrant status.
- Your non-immigrant status is in effect.
- He has not committed any crime that would deprive him of the right to receive immigration benefits.
- There are no reasons forcing him to leave the U.S.
- Your passport is valid for the time you have applied to stay in the United States.
